Our usual routine was traded for target practice during the April drill, as we spent the entire weekend facilitating training exercises and marksmanship qualifications at the Rock County Rifle and Pistol Club.

Arriving at Rock County Rifle and Pistol Club, the crisp air and open spaces set the tone for a focused and energized day!

Check-in went smoothly as we began our day with quick introductions to RCRPC staff and protocol.

This evolution, led by Instructor Alexey Burkut, consisted of multiple stations, each offering a chance for cadets to sharpen their skills in shooting rifles and pistols. New cadets participated in a clinic with INST Burkut, where they learned fundamentals and basic shooting techniques. All cadets spent the entire weekend practicing their shooting and were assessed on their marksmanship abilities.

Top Marksman goes to PO2 Ana Blancas and RC Mazzulla for earning the highest scores in their qualifying shoots.

Bravo Zulu to all that earned their marksmanship ribbons!

If precision shooting did not get your attention, that megaphone surely did!

Five of our cadets participated in the makeup Physical Readiness Test. We are proud to report that all five passed! We are impressed by their commitment to upholding the standards of fitness and congratulate them on a job well done!

Of course Mrs. Keyser did a phenomenal job organizing chow - the highlight of any drill! Cadets enjoyed continental breakfasts, Instructor Jim Head's famous Cowboy Beans, hot dogs straight from the grill, and yummy deli sandwiches. It is no small feat to feed and nourish such a large number of youth and we appreciate all of the effort that goes into doing so. Thank you Mrs. Keyser for always providing a wonderful meal.

Thank you Janesville Masonic Center!
Thank you Janesville Masonic Center!

We would be remiss in not mentioning the generosity of the Janesville Masonic Center, who played an integral part in the success of this drill. They allowed us to utilize their facility, providing a safe and comfortable place for our cadets to camp out while away from home.

Special thanks again to our dedicated instructors, Instructors, Will Stanford, Jeff Keyser, and CO Brian Proa for manning our stations and making them valuable learning experiences while having safe fun. Thank you to our leadership for making the training both safe and impactful. Days like this remind us why hands-on experiences are such a vital part of the Sea Cadet program - we don't just train, we grow.
