In a solemn display of respect and gratitude, the Sea Cadets 9-1-1 Division served as door guards during the memorial service for Ben Keefe, the late Commander of VFW Post 4600 in McHenry. This duty was a profound honor for our cadets, who stood with pride and reverence to pay tribute to a man who dedicated his life to serving his country and his community.
Commander Keefe was a respected leader at VFW Post 4600, known for his unwavering commitment to veterans, his community, and the ideals of service and patriotism. The Sea Cadets were humbled to support his family, friends, and fellow veterans as they gathered to remember a remarkable leader who left a lasting impact.
As door guards, our cadets provided a respectful presence at the entrance, demonstrating their dedication to the core values of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. This role, while silent, speaks volumes—it symbolizes unity, honor, and the tradition of supporting those who have given so much.
We extend our deepest condolences to Commander Keefe’s family and friends, and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to show our respect for his legacy. His contributions to the community and to his fellow veterans will not be forgotten, and we will continue to honor his memory through our commitment to service and integrity.
A Final Salute!
Commander Ben Keefe’s dedication lives on through all he inspired, and Sea Cadets 9-1-1 Division was honored to stand as guardians in his memory.
