Meet Petty Officer Second Class Nathan Rastovac

How old Were you when you joined the US Naval Sea Cadet or League Cadet corps?

I was 13 when I joined the US Naval Sea Cadet Corp in 7th grade.

Why did you join US Naval Sea Cadets?

I joined the US Naval Sea Cadet Corp to gain military experience.  My goal is to attend one of the military academies or get an ROTC scholarship to become an officer in either the Navy or Army. I understood the program built leadership and character while providing military training at a young age.  That further motivated me to join.

What do you like most about US Naval Sea Cadets?

What I like most about the US Naval Sea Cadet is the leadership experience and discipline that is taught at drill and trainings. This builds character and teaches the cadets skills that they will continue to use the rest of their military and civilian lives.  What would you tell prospective Recruit Cadets and their Parents about Division Nine One One?

I would tell a potential recruit and their family that Division Nine One One is a great division that is welcoming everyone. We want the cadet to give his or her all and, in return, the leadership team of officers and petty officers will give their all in teaching and leading the great cadets of Nine One One.

What is the next advancement you are working toward ?

The next advancement I am working on is Petty Officer First Class.  This rank will further my knowledge and allow me the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with other cadets.
