Sea Cadets 9-1-1 Division Participates in Garden Cleanup and Flag Retirement Ceremony.

On June 15, 2024, the Sea Cadets 9-1-1 Division took part in a community service project to benefit VFW Post 4600 in McHenry, IL. The cadets contributed to the upkeep of the VFW facilities through various activities.




Garden Cleanup

  • Cadets assisted in distributing flora in the VFW garden to enhance pollination and beautify the surroundings.

  • They diligently deweeded the facility grounds to maintain a clean and welcoming environment for veterans and visitors.


Flag Retirement Ceremony

In addition to the garden cleanup, the cadets also participated in the annual Flag Retirement Ceremony. This solemn event dignifies the retirement of worn-out American flags and pays tribute to the nation and its symbols.

The Sea Cadets demonstrated their commitment to community service, environmental stewardship, and respect for national symbols through their participation in these activities. Their efforts benefited VFW Post 4600 and fostered a sense of pride and responsibility among the cadets.
